We have almost 1,000 area lakes, 350 miles of connected, groomed snowmobiling and ATV Trails, and some of the finest shopping and dining establishments in Northwest Wisconsin. In addition, we boast beautiful golf courses, museums and a scenic train ride.
Spooner is also home to many annual events and festivals including Jack Pine Savage Days, Savage Dash, Food & Wine Tasting Benefit, Jack Frost Fest, Jack O’ Lantern Fest, Zombie Run, and Heart of the North Spooner Rodeo.
Lakeland Family Resource Center is a non-profit center that offers free support, education and activities for families with children. We are supported by grants and donations. There are no fees for our services.
LFRC is a family education center that offers playgroups on Mondays from 10 am to Noon and on Wednesdays from 10 am to 3 pm. Drop- ins are welcome to arrange for support services to all families, regardless of income.
The mission of Lakeland Family Resource Center is to provide programs and services that build on family strengths through prevention, education, support and collaboration with other resources in the community. Lakeland is available to all families and children in Washburn County.
We provide programming in the communities of Spooner, Shell Lake, Birchwood and Minong.
Programs Offered Include: First Friends Playtime, Birth to Three Playgroup, Kidstime/Parentime, Open Center, Library Fun for Little Ones, Family Festival, Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Connections Program, Community Response Program, Parent Education Workshops
