This program is an internationally recognized evidence based program, endorsed by SAMHSA, for adults that are working with youth/adolescents ages 12-18. YMHFA teaches a 5 step action plan that provides the tools to participants to notice and engage youth that are struggling with mental health concerns (mild-severe); to identify appropriate ways to engage these youth and how to select/access other resources to support the youth and their family. We also teach about risk factors, warning signs of mental illness and addiction; and the impact on families and communities.
The training is open to ANY adults that interact with youth not just educators so please feel free to share this information widely. Printable flyers will also be shared soon!
This program is currently being support through UW-Extension's Opioid Task Force and the DPI WISH Center Project Aware grant funds which significantly reduces the cost of this event.
An additional training will be happening locally on June 7th - I am also available to schedule additional local trainings. Please reach out with any questions or about scheduling additional events.
