The Fifth Annual “The Art of Film” Series will continue the theme established in the last four seasons of showing critically acclaimed films from the U.S. and around the world. The films chosen demonstrate an array of techniques their makers use to create these works. We are delighted to have Justin Peck, UW-Madison Film Studies graduate, returning this season to join us for the three films. More dates may be scheduled, so keep checking back on our website for the latest information. Audience members are invited to remain after each film for a lively discussion.
All films are shown in the Center’s Conference Room, adjacent to the Cafeteria. Use the Center’s south entrance (doors near the flagpole) and follow signs to the Conference Room. Films are projected on a 9’ X 13’ screen with comfortable seating. Audience members are also welcome to bring their own folding chairs if they prefer.
Films begin at 7 p.m. There is no admission charged but we do suggest a $7.00 donation per person, and popcorn and beverages will be available.
Tonights film is "A Ghost Story." An extraordinary mood piece about a recently deceased man who returns to the suburban home he shared with his wife as a white-sheeted ghost. It's a ghost story, but not scary. It's a cinematic poem about love, the passage of time, grief, existence, and the legacies we leave behind.
