The 4th Annual Happy Trails for Happy Tails Trailride Fundraiser for the Washburn County Area Humane Society is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2019, starting at 10 AM, at South Dugan Run Horse Trails, located 11 miles east of Spooner.
The trailride is being held a few weeks later this year not only to give riders a chance to get their horses in shape but possibly a better day of weather. This is not a group ride so everyone may ride at their leisure and enjoy a relaxing day. In the past, the ride has brought in horse/rider combinations from as far away as Ashland, Iron River, Lake Nebagamon, Green Bay, and Osseo, so it's a great opportunity for local riders to meet and enjoy a day with fellow horse lovers. Call/text Kate at 715-419-2797 or Shawn at 715-931-8984 for more details. Trail maps will be available at the event or through the Washburn County Tourism website: www.washburncounty.org/what-to-do/horseback-riding
A cookout lunch will be served from 12:30-1:30 PM, and there will be a chance to win a variety of great raffle prizes at that time also. Not only will this be an enjoyable ride but an opportunity to support this local animal shelter located at 1300 Roundhouse Road in Spooner. A donation of $25 is being asked for this event.
There will be an opportunity to Cram the Crate by donating needed items for the shelter such as scoopable cat litter, canned cat and dog food, cat and dog treats, 39 gallon garbage bags, plastic/washable dog and cat toys, blankets, bleach, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, paper towels, dog and cat collars, envelopes, and copy paper.
