Hunt Hill will be hosting Birds & Beer at What the Heck Eatery and Spirits, 27790 County Road A, Spooner on Thursday, February 7. Registration starts at 5:30 pm and the program starts at 6:00 pm. This month’s topic is Osprey by Ryan Magana, WI DNR ecologist.
With their spectacular dives, piercing vocalizations and ability to adapt in a human-dominated environment, osprey are one of the most recognizable large raptors of North America’s fauna. Having rebounded from serious population declines in the 20th Century, osprey are now found nesting in over 55 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties and their numbers continue to climb. On this night, we will discuss osprey ecology and some of the research that surrounds this charismatic, attention-grabbing “fish eagle.” Birds & Beer is a monthly program that gives nature enthusiasts the opportunity to interact in a casual setting. Each Birds & Beer program features a different presenter at a different location. Registration is highly suggested because space is limited. To register, call 715-635-6543 or purchase tickets online at hunthill.org. Tickets are $10, if purchased in advance; $15 at the door.
