Lakeland Family Resource Center is a place you can
turn to for support or find answers to parenting and family questions.
The center is a non-profit organization serving Washburn County. We are
supported by grants and donations. There are no fees for our services.
Programs and Services offered:
First Friends Playtime:
Mondays, 10:00-12:00pm
The main focus during First Friends is infant stimulation with toys, music
and movement. Parents have an opportunity to share parenting joys and fears.
Birth to Three Playgroup:
Tuesdays, 10:00-11:30am
This playgroup is facilitated by Birth to Three Coordinator LeAnn Johnson.
Art project materials are provided and the morning closes with circle music
time.
Kidstime-Parentime:
Wednesdays, 10:00-12:00pm
Participants, staff, and area agencies discuss, learn, and share ideas and
experiences to enrich parenting skills. Art or play materials are available
to children of all ages.
Library Fun:
Tuesdays, 9:30-10:15am @ Birchwood School Library (during the school year)
Thursdays, 10:30-11:15am @ Shell Lake Public Library
Parents, grandparents, relatives, daycare providers, even neighbors, are
invited to bring their favorite little one to this special sharing time of
stories, craft and snack.
Everyone is welcome to use the services at Lakeland Family Resource Center
as there is no age limit or minimum.
Breastfeeding Classes:
2nd Thursday of each month, @ 1:30pm
This class is facilitated by Amber Bednar of WA CTY Health Department
Parent Support Groups:
Parent Support Groups has varying areas of interest, need and support.
Connections Program:
Connections Program is a program that works one on one with parents on
specific parenting issues or concerns.
Community Response Program:
This voluntary program is designed to provide individual families with
supports to identify their strengths and to ensure their success in meeting
their goals.
Parent Education Workshops:
Parent Education Workshops, classes with an emphasis in areas such as
positive parenting, nutrition, health, anger management, stress reduction,
child development, and CPR.
Toy and Book Lending Library:
Toy and Book Lending Library has parenting resources and children's books.
Not too mention countless videos and toys that can be checked out.

Warm-line is a telephone service for questions, support and referrals. If
you call after hours please leave a message.
The mission of Lakeland Family Resource Center is to provide programs and
services through prevention, education, support and collaboration with other
resources in the community. Lakeland is available to all families and
children in Washburn County.
